My product management journey
Two decades of connecting the dots in product management and beyond, one step at a time.
-
1
Early days: coding
Started as a software developer, building the foundations of product development from the ground up. My biggest tech passions ended up being databases, data migrations and reporting.
-
2
Next: engineering management
Led a product team fighting a good ORM fight against Microsoft Entity Framework, differentiated by supporting 14 different databases.
-
3
Intrapreneurship
Was given the unique opportunity to launch a new MarTech SaaS. I failed to find product-market fit, but after pivoting still hit $300K ARR, and that taught me many lessons.
-
4
A $20M+ product line
Went on to lead a strong CMS product line, with my newly launched SaaS as an add-on.
-
5
Leanplum: the ICP focus case study
Joined a promising mobile CRM. After a company crisis, rebuilt the product management organization from the ground up. Together with strong leaders, redefined the ICP, the Jobs-to-be-Done and the product strategy. Got back on a growth path and was eventually acquired by CleverTap.

6
CleverTap: learning scale
How does product strategy work with several important ICP segments? How can goal-based roadmapping still work with 20+ interconnected teams? How do you build a high-performing PM org without the luxury of starting from scratch?

OfficeRnD: two product lines, one product org
Today I lead product managers, product designers and data engineers in one organization, across two separate product lines, each with its own customers and its own market. How do you run two product strategies in one product org?
